RACER’S FRIEND
VP Racing Fuel’s Jason
Rueckert takes a momentary
break from lending a hand
to his fuel and track prep
customers and jumps behind
the wheel of his silver Outlaw
Drag Radial Oldsmobile Cutlass, which is every bit as fast
as it is beautiful, during Radial
Fest at Huntsville Dragway.
FATHER-SON FUN
PDRA Pro Nitrous regular Jim Sackuvich
smiles with son Jimmy, who competes
in Top Dragster, in the pits at Osage
Casino Tulsa Raceway Park during the
PDRA’s stop at the racer-favorite facility.
Half Scale
Sixteen-year-old Courtney Howard stands beside her half-scale racer at Farmington
Dragway during a recent event. The Mocksville, North Carolina-native has been driving
Junior Dragsters since she started racing at age 9, and when not competing locally
for points at Farmington, travels the PDRA circuit with her father, Todd Howard, who
wheels Jerry Williams’ Ford Mustang in Pro Nitrous competition. In addition to being
a multi-time finalist within the PDRA ranks, Courtney was also the winner of the 2013
ADRL Battle for the Belts at Rockingham Dragway.
SWITCHING GEARS
A two-time NHRA Funny Car world champion, Tony Pedregon has transitioned to his new role as TV analyst for the
NHRA’s FOX Sports broadcasts. Pedregon and his broadcast
partner, Dave Rieff, are pictured here in the broadcast booth
at the season-opening Winternationals in Pomona.
OVER THE TOP Jordan Wood (left) and his brother, Dane Wood, enjoy the
friendly rivalry of racing their Top Sportsman cars. The Virginia natives grew up
“Ford guys” but Dane jumped ship to a Camaro when he switched team owners
last year, while Jordan stills wheels a Mustang. “We don’t care what’s under us,
just as long as it will get us from point A to point B,” the brothers laughingly
agreed. For 2016 the Wood brothers look forward to racing in PDRA competition, as well as other venues around the southeast.
