Two jalopy racers prepare to launch their cars from the
starting line of Beaver Springs Dragway during the 13th
annual York Nostalgia Nationals. The vintage 1920 to 1930era vehicles were a hugely popular addition to this year’s
gathering and entertained fans by dashing to the eighth-mile
mark in the 12-second range at speeds in the neighborhood
of 55mp h. Despite being the slowest eliminator class on the
property and competing solely for trophies and bragging
rights, these cars were a huge hit with fans and racers alike.
