“Professional drag racing can’t prosper when 90-percent of the professional
team owners do it as a hobby and not as their livelihood.” - BOB VANDERGRIFF JR.
MOVERS & SHAKERS
Thumbs Up
Michigan native Bob Hoernlein stands proudly beside the 1973 Plymouth Duster that
he and son, Scott, restored some 20-years ago when Scott was still in high school.
The car was a literal barn find from Arkansas that Bob bought for $700. He and Scott
still enjoy racing the car at various tracks, especially their local Mid Michigan Motorplex located in the town of Stanton.
