One of drag racing’s favorite couples, Cassie Simonton and
Mike Giafino, thrash to service their beloved screw-blown
1972 Ford Maverick between rounds of Outlaw Pro Mod
competition during the Street Car Supernationals Anarchy at
the Arch event. Off from their normal gig crewing on the Frank
Manzo-tuned, Von Smith-driven NHRA Pro Mod Corvette of
AAP Racing, the two enlisted longtime friend and NHRA Top
Fuel ace Scott Palmer to wheel the short-wheelbase Ford in
St. Louis and qualified 7th with a 3.91-second, 188mph effort.
