rom the moment race promoter Chris Moore invited
me to his Street Outlaws
event at historic Darlington Dragway this past October, I was hugely
interested in attending for a number
of reasons. For starters, I was anxious to witness firsthand the wideranging renovations made to the
South Carolina facility since racer
Russell Miller took over operating
the track about 12 months earlier.
But aside from surveying Darlington’s restoration (which continues
to draw rave reviews, by the way), I
was also particularly interested in
sitting down with Shawn Ellington
and Justin “Big Chief ” She
