Jason Rupert and Kris Krabill blast off the line in the final round of the 2016 California Hot Rod Reunion with Rupert busting off a stout 5.59-second, 250mph blast to earn an extremely emotional win for the Rolling Thunder Team as this marked their first-ever win at the famed Famoso Raceway – an almost unbelievable stat considering their success over the course of the last few years. Despite losing the final, it was all smiles in the Krabill pits as earlier in the rounds as the Bucky Austin-owned-and-tuned operation clinched the 2016 NHRA Heritage Series Nitro Funny Car Championship. Both teams gave it their all this season and were awarded accordingly with a memorable win and series title in hand.
