Kim Kussy encourages others through racing and aviation

As the president and chief marketing and finance officer of Aerospace Components, Kim Kussy bears a variety of responsibilities. She’ s heavily involved with both the mechanical and business workings at the company she cofounded with her husband Al, but it’ s the ability to give back through her work that truly drives the licensed pilot and drag racer.

One of the most obvious ways Kussy gives back to the racing community is her longstanding support of racers in NMCA, NMCA West and NMRA competition, as well as NHRA national events, through above-and-beyond winner’ s circle celebrations. Aerospace Components also backed the NHRA Excellence in Engineering Award presented to the best engineered car at several NHRA national events.
Her newest business is the launching of Kimmy’ s Garage, a new company designed to promote the Aerospace Components product line, but to also partner with other companies and promote their product lines.
Kussy also relishes the opportunity to be a role model for young women, as she’ s worked her way up to a top-tier position in two industries- aviation and motorsports- that are considered by many to be male-dominated.
“ I love encouraging women, and men, to dream big, to give it their all, and to be passionate about what they do,” said Kussy, who also owns Aerodynamic Aviation, a company that buys and sells aircraft.“ As a woman who owns businesses in the flying industry and the racing industry, I am very determined to help other women succeed. I believe in giving back to others. I’ m the product of someone blessing me and investing in me. I really believe that when you invest in people and show them they can do it, that they really can do anything.”
