Kortney Collins takes a quick breather on the slick of her boyfriend’s dragster in
the staging lanes of Darlington Dragway recently. Kortney’s man, Chris Vanover,
lets her take the controls of the dragster every now and then, competing at vari-
ous bracket events, such as Bristol Dragway’s DER series, where Kortney came up
through the ranks of Junior Dragster racing during her teenage years.

Douglas Wood of Massillon, Ohio, celebrates

win. After more than 30 years of racing,
Wood drove his ’69 Cutlass to the Super
Street title early in May at Atlanta Dragway.
