“We knew coming into this year that we weren’t going to have the advantage that we had last year. But that just
creates a bigger challenge, and the Summit Racing team has never been one to shy away from a challenge.” - JASON LINE

FLIPPING SWITCHES
Doug Mashburn has overseen several
hundred thousand rounds of competi-
tion during his multi-decade career as
chief starter at various southeast drag
strips like Shuffletown, Farmington and
Mooresville, where this photo was taken.
Big W
Michael “Big W” Turrentine stands beside his 1967 Camaro at Atmore Dragway during the DragCoverage Na-
tionals Night of Fire, an event Turrentine won in 7.00 Index, bringing his victory total to 97 in this car. Michael
always double-enters in eliminations while racing at Atmore, so that his son, Travis, can also take a crack at
the competition. It’s a strategy that’s paying off well, with Travis leading the points in Pro Bracket, and Michael
currently in second place as of this writing.
