Will to Race Danny Stout has never let a childhood injury slow him down in life, and despite be- ing confined to a wheelchair since age 11, he discovered the sport of drag racing in his early 20s after he outfitted a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner with hand controls. He later raced a 1966 Impala, scoring three Super Chevy victories, and once famously won five Sundays in a row at Brown County Dragway in the 1980s. He’s still a fierce competi- tor in his current ride, a 1977 Chevrolet Chevette, and enjoys racing with his brother at tracks such as Muncie Dragway, where this photo was snapped.
