GRUBBY’S GOT IT
Racing in front of Stringer Performance’s home crowd, Clay Millican drove
his Parts Plus/Great Clips dragster to a new NHRA Top Fuel elapsed-time
world record at the NHRA Midwest Nationals. The David Grubnic-tuned
machine covered the 1,000-foot strip in 3.631 seconds at 330.39 mph to set
the new standard for the sport’s quickest category. “That run is 100-percent
David Grubnic doing his thing,” Millican said. “He is the baddest dude out
here right now and I don’t think anybody can argue that. He does it his way;
there’s no shared information and it’s done with group of young guys.”
