“ We had a little bit of everything this season, and a lot of up and down moments, but we tried to use what we had learned in years past and stay focused so that everything would come together,” says Amrine, who continues to row the gears of a manual transmission even as some of his fellow racers have moved to automatic transmissions.“ Eventually, it all clicked.”
Jacob Lamb drove his Mustang to a 10.15 to qualify in the third position in G-Force Racing Transmissions Coyote Stock, and picked up to a 10.14 to runner-up and ride to his first class championship with a mere 95 points more than Shane Stymiest. Kentuckian Lamb, who now can replace the number 3 on his windshield with the number 1, won at the event in Georgia.
“ This has been a great year,” Lamb says.“ Everyone in Coyote Stock has a top-notch program, and to come out number one is a great accomplishment. I couldn’ t have done it without the help of all of my friends and family. I feel truly blessed to be surrounded by this group of people.”
In Detroit Locker Truck and Lightning, Randy Conway, who recorded an. 047 reaction time to qualify tenth in his Ranger, won with a 10.39 and subsequently backed up his championship of 2016 with 230 points more than Wade Trammell. Michigan-based Conway also won at the events in Florida, Georgia and Kentucky.
