RAY MILLER III
Now 29 years old, the somewhat reserved
young man has long been a fierce competitor
and was bound for success from the get-go. Mill-
er stepped into Lucas Oil Series competition in
2008 and began accumulating division trophies.
He scored his first national event win in 2010, has
been a JEGS All Star, and won the division. So far,
though, a national championship has been elusive.
This season, he is ready.
“Now I know that if you have a shot to win the
championship, you have to continue to do what
you were doing, because that’s what got you there,”
states Miller. “You can’t try to play it safe and
change your driving. I was really young when I
started, and I think I’ve matured a bit as a driver.
I wasn’t ready to win a championship at that time.
“I don’t want to say that I’m looking really good,
because we’ve got a lot of racing left and a long
way to go – but we definitely have a shot.”
