Gary White Puts Import in X275 Winner ’ s Circle

■ In what was likely a first for a DXP event , Gary White piloted a clutch-equipped import entry to victory in X275 competition . White , who ’ s been making import history for well over a decade , drove the turbocharged , 2JZ-powered ’ 94 Toyota Supra to a 4.192 at 180.19 in the final round to defeat Ron Rhodes and his wheelstanding 4.308 in his nitrous-assisted , small-block-powered ’ 68 Camaro . It was the first DXP win for White and the Titan team .

Mo Hall Goes Back to Back in Pro 275

■ Mo Hall , known for tearing up the Outlaw 10.5 world in his nitrous-fed , Fulton-powered Corvette , continues to make waves in Pro 275 . After winning Lights Out 12 in February , he notched a second consecutive win on Saturday when he drove his Brandon Switzer-tuned ‘ Vette to a finalround victory over Adam Preston .

Roger Holder Takes Flight

■ California ’ s Roger Holder joined a growing list of small-tire drivers to take flight at SGMP , as his show-quality twin-turbo ’ 68 Nova took off during the second round of Pro 275 qualifying on Thursday evening .

Holder wasn ’ t injured in the incident , though the car suffered enough damage to put it on the sidelines for the rest of the weekend .

“ Thank you all for the support , I appreciate all of you even though I can ’ t respond to all ,” Holder said on a Facebook post . “ The good Lord had his hands on me once again and kept me safe . The safety crew did an amazing job as well being there almost before I got stopped , thank you . I ’ m pretty banged up . Car is banged up as well . I ’ ll get it apart , assess the damage and get it fixed .”

Shane Stack Remains King of Limited Drag Radial

■ There are few drivers who can rival Alabama ’ s Shane Stack when it comes to success in Limited Drag Radial . The multi-time class champion notched another DXP event win in his “ Thrillbilly ” ’ 86 Monte Carlo , which wasn ’ t the quickest car on the property but did record personal-best performances .

After qualifying No . 5 with a 3.98-second lap , Stack marched through eliminations , knocking down Neil Hawkins , Eddie Harrison and Taylor Lastor before lining up with DJ McCain , who is moving into class racing this season after success in the no-time racing world . McCain grabbed a holeshot advantage , but Stack drove around him with a 4.03 to edge out McCain ’ s 4.13 . DI
