BRING IT IN : South Carolina ’ s Robbie Matthews guides Terry Coyle into the beams for a Pro Mod qualifying pass in Chip King ’ s Dreamworks Motorsports ‘ 71 Mustang . Coyle was filling in for King , who won the 2021 NMCA Xtreme Pro Mod world championship in the car .
DOUBLE DUTY : Longtime drag racing journalist Jason Reiss gives a trackside thumbs-up at the PDRA Doorslammer Derby in Kentucky . Reiss joined the PDRA team this season to manage the social media accounts as well as take photos to post on the pages . He was diagnosed with cancer after the season ended , and he has the whole racing community in his corner as he fights the battle .
P-DOG : PDRA Pro Boost rookie Preston “ P-Dog ” Tanner is all smiles after making a pass in his screw-blown C7 Corvette . Competing with some of the biggest names in Pro Mod racing , Tanner held his own all season , winning the first round at five of the seven races he attended to finish eighth in points .
REST EASY , CLARENCE : Dedicated PDRA photographer Clarence Hannon holds down his spot along the wall at the PDRA North vs . South Shootout in Maryland . Hannon passed away Sunday , December 5th , after a cancer battle . Despite pain associated with the illness , Hannon attended every PDRA race this season as well as nearly every race at his home track , Virginia Motorsports Park . He often gifted prints to racers and humbly shared his expertise with fellow photographers .
