Texas native Steve Torrence heats up the tires across the Las Vegas starting line ahead of a qualifying pass at the Dodge // SRT NHRA Nationals . Anyone who bet on Torrence won big , as Torrence and the Richard Hogan-led “ Capco Boys ” qualified No . 2 with the Red Line Oil-backed dragster and powered through eliminations to win his 10th Wally of the season and the 50th Top Fuel Wally of his career . He went on to also win the Auto Club NHRA Finals at Pomona , where he clinched his fourth consecutive world championship .
