In a frame caught at just the right fraction of a second , nearly all four tires are off the racing surface as Top Fuel veteran Tony Schumacher drives into tire shake shortly after launching on a Friday night qualifying run at the NHRA Arizona Nationals . The eight-time world champion is making his return to full-time racing this season after a brief hiatus and a part-time campaign in 2020 . With support from Maynard Family Racing and Scag Power Equipment , Schumacher will pursue a category-best ninth world championship .
