A fiery inferno quickly erupts as Mike “ Murf ” Murphy bounces off the retaining wall during Pro Outlaw 632 final qualifying at the U . S . Street Nationals . The throttle hung wide open after leaving the starting line , so Murphy was just along for the ride as his Racelite Lithium Batteries Camaro hit the wall , which ruptured the fuel cell and caused this wicked fire . Fortunately , Murphy was able to get out of the car quickly and without serious injuries . Murphy and the Voss Family Racing team plan to repair the car and have it back on track as soon as possible . Until then , he ’ ll drive the Voss family ’ s shop car , a Thunderbird .
