Before Stacy Hall was old enough to drive , he started out as the floor sweeper for engine builder Gene Fulton at his Fulton Competition Engines shop in Spartanburg , South Carolina . Over the course of the last 40 or so years , Hall has developed a reputation as one of the most likeable and well-respected guys in the Top Sportsman and Top Dragster pits at PDRA races . With a world championship to his name , he ’ s excelled as a driver . As one of the lead engine builders at Fulton , he ’ s contributed to some of the most memorable moments in Pro Modified history .
