Racing Engines offers finely crafted high-performance engines beyond Pro Stock BY ROB KING

Titan Racing Engines [ TRE ] blasted onto the 2022 NHRA scene with a ton of muscle and a whole lot of history . The race shop behind Pro Stock newcomer Camrie Caruso ’ s instant success powered their fresh-faced driver to No . 1 and a final round in just her fifth race . In further testament to the generous horsepower flowing out of the TRE engine room , Caruso qualified in the top half at all but one of the first eight races of the year after setting top speed of the meet at the season opener .

Now , that proven TRE power is available to the public , and the fully equipped race shop is whirring with activity that reaches well outside of building the standard – though extremely efficient – 500-cubic-inch Pro Stock engine .
“ When this first started , I sat down with [ engine builders ] Mike Smith and Stevie Johns , and they said , ‘ We know what to do . We ’ ve got the program , and if you really want to make it work , we can do this ,’ “ recalls TRE partner Eric Latino . “ That ’ s where it all started for us : a commitment to not only make this work , but to be the best at what we do . We ’ ve already proven that we ’ re right there with the best of the best , and that ’ s pretty exciting .”
In addition to Pro Stock power for Caruso and a handful of customers in Europe , the TRE race shop has built winning engines for dirt and asphalt late model circle track entries as well as powerful bullets suited for a variety of classes , including Comp and Stock Eliminator . That diverse experience has come in handy as TRE has utilized Pro Stock-level expertise to create aftermarket street products with a focus on LS-based offerings .
“ One of the positive things that come from building a variety of engines is that you see different things and get new ideas ,” says engine builder Mike
