SICK WEEK 2023 presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive was a raw example of drag-and-drive ’ s mantra — to win , you must first survive . ¶ The quickest real street cars in the nation ( and entries from Canada , Sweden , and even Australia ) converged on Florida , where they would compete over five daysof racing — and 800 miles of street driving — to determine who would be crowned the Sick Week champion . ¶ Also along for the ride during the event were the 200 entrants of the Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward presented by Peak Performance . With everything from rental cars to show-worthy street machines parked up , the Sick Warders cruised and spectated all week , while getting VIP treatment from the Sick Week staff . ¶ With more than a dozen 6-second capable street cars in attendance , the hype for Sick Week was real , but it didn ’ t take long for the leading contenders to begin to fall . The most dramatic loss came within the first hour of competition , as David Schroeder ’ s nitrous Corvette got loose after half-track and impacted the wall before barrel-rolling through the braking area . Fortunately , Schroeder emerged unhurt from the violent incident .
