PRO NITROUS MOTORCYCLE CHRIS GARNER-JONES
● IN 2021 , second-generation rider Chris Garner-Jones won the Drag 965 Pro Nitrous Motorcycle world championship in memory of his late father and fellow rider , T . T . Jones . After a crushing runner-up finish in 2022 , Garner-Jones charged to two wins in four final-round appearances during the 2023 season to claim his second PDRA world championship aboard the T . T . Jones Racing Hayabusa .
“ This one is a little more special ,” said Garner-Jones . “ The first one was definitely special , but this one is more special because I want to dedicate it to my brother [ William ]. He works his ass off night in , night out on this bike . I ’ m not there to work on it . He does all the work , tunes it , everything . It ’ s really for these guys – my wife , all my brothers , my mom , and of course , my dad up in heaven . It ’ s very special .”

SUPER STREET BLAKE DENTON
● WHEN THE PDRA announced the formation of its new Afco Racing Super Street presented by Menscer Motorsports class , Blake Denton knew he had to be a part of it . He couldn ’ t have predicted then that he would walk away with the inaugural Super Street world championship after a breakout 2023 season . Denton won twice and was runner-up once in his Jeff Pierce-tuned , Musi-powered ’ 76 Camaro .
“ This is something our team dreams about ,” said Denton , who thanked fiancée Amber , Judy and Tommy Franklin , parents Wendy and Wesley , the Tommy Franklin Motorsports crew , Pat Musi at Pat Musi Racing Engines , Mark Micke and M & M Transmission , Red Line Oil , and Hoosier Tire . “ To have two cars win a championship in pro categories , it ’ s a big deal for us . Especially with a new car that we ’ re not used to . After learning it and making it better , it ’ s a good feeling .”
● YEARS OF FAST bracket racing in Top Sportsman prepared Bill Riddle for a move up to Menscer Motorsports Pro Street presented by Afco Racing , PDRA ’ s version of Outlaw 10.5 . In just his second full season in the class , Riddle raced to one win in three consecutive final-round appearances to earn the 2023 Pro Street world championship . He also qualified No . 1 three times in the seven-race Pro Street season .
“ We ’ ve been racing for years and been chasing this type of dream ,” said Riddle , who drives the roots-blown Corrigan Race Fuels ’ 89 Camaro . “ It means a lot to us . I love the heads-up stuff . The last few races we ’ ve been getting a lot of cars here , which really made it fun . I ’ m hoping we get a lot more cars next year .”
