The Summit Racing Equipment Mid- West Drag Racing Series ( MWDRS ) presented by J & A Service is poised for another strong season in 2024 with strengthened support from returning series partners , including Summit and J & A Service .

The series and class sponsor J & A Service have renewed their commitment to the Alcohol Funny Car class , which will have a revamped structure for 2024 . The entry fee , which includes car , driver , four crew , pit cart , and pit vehicle passes , was reduced to $ 500 . The class will race for $ 7,500 to win and $ 3,000 to runner-up , with a total purse of $ 16,000 per event for an eight-car field . The MWDRS Alcohol Funny Car season championship pays $ 10,000 to win .
Both Keith Haney and J & A Service owners Jim and Annie Whiteley have been in constant talks this winter to provide a better structure for racers to race with the series .
“ A big benefit to racing with the MWDRS is being able to arrive Friday and be home by Sunday . That cuts down on travel expenses as far hotels as well as a lot of our guys have other jobs and families . These racers are all business owners and have to be able to focus on their companies in order to enjoy racing ,” said Ellen Eschenbacher , event director , MWDRS .
Race Star Industries is returning as the Pro Jr . Dragster class sponsor as well as presenting
sponsor of the Top Dragster class . As part of the partnership with the MWDRS , Race Star Wheels will give a $ 100 product certificate for the winner of both the Sportsman Jr . and Pro Jr . Dragster classes .

MWDRS will showcase eight events throughout the 2024 racing season , beginning March 15- 16 at Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris , Texas . The MWDRS then heads to a new track for the series , Pine Valley Raceway in Lufkin , Texas , April 19-20 , and a crowd favorite , the Spring Throwdown in Tulsa , May 10-11 . The series ventures to a brandnew venue , Flying H Dragstrip in Odessa , Missouri , May 31-June 1 . The return to World Wide Technology Raceway in St . Louis , June 28-29 , caps off the first half of the season .
Following a summer break , the series returns to US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin , Michigan , September 6-7 , followed by a return visit to Flying H Dragstrip , September 20-21 . The season concludes at the Fall Throwdown in Tulsa , October 18-19 . All races will be streamed live on FloRacing . DI
