For one , the series will now be known as the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series , as Tommy Franklin , Series Director Tyler Crossnoe , and Red Line Oil Brand Director Mark Beatty announced at the PRI Show in December that Red Line expanded its relationship with the PDRA as the series title sponsor .
The PDRA also announced it will race at one of the late Bruton Smith ’ s Speedway Motorsports facilities , Bristol Dragway in Bristol , Tennessee . The historic dragstrip known as “ Thunder Valley ” will host the PDRA ’ s sixth of eight points-earning races , the inaugural Thunder Valley Throwdown , August 22-24 .

“ We ’ re excited to bring the PDRA ’ s talent pool to a new market and one that I believe will thrive in the fact that there has not been an eighth-mile Pro Modified series at the facility in over 10 years ,” Crossnoe said . “ Inaugural events in a new market and facility are always tough – there are always things that are not going to go as planned . Our team is known for adjusting on the fly , and I ’ m sure we will continue to do just that to ensure the best show and race possible . After all , it ’ s Bristol , baby !”
Outside of the Bristol addition , the 2024 PDRA schedule is pretty consistent with last season ’ s lineup . The season begins April 3-6 at the Summit

Racing Equipment East Coast Nationals presented by FuelTech at GALOT Motorsports Park . Two weeks later , Virginia Motorsports Park hosts its first of three PDRA events on its calendar , the Kaeser Compressors Mid- Atlantic Showdown presented by Classic Graphix , April 18-20 . The series will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend , May 23-25 , at Summit Motorsports Park for the Smokies Garage American Doorslammer Challenge presented by Callies Performance . The first half of the season wraps up June 13-15 at the North vs . South Shootout at Maryland International Raceway .
The fourth annual Summit Racing PDRA ProStars sits right in the middle of the season on July 13 .

Held in conjunction with Virginia Motorsports Park ’ s Night of Fire , the ProStars race gives qualified drivers an opportunity to race for big prize money in front of a big crowd , all without an entry fee . Details surrounding the Night of Fire portion of the event have yet to be announced , but the lineup typically features multiple concerts , nitroburning race cars , jet cars , fireworks , and more .
The second half of the season starts with another pyrotechnic-heavy event , the Northern Nationals , August 1-3 , at U . S . 131 Motorsports Park . This is the second year that PDRA ’ s professional and sportsman categories will join the track ’ s long-
