Sixteen-time NHRA Funny Car world champion John Force proved he still has what it takes to win in the ultra-competitive Funny Car class when he raced to victory at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway in Epping , New Hampshire . The 75-year-old driver also won the Mission Foods # 2Fast2Tasty Challenge the day before in his PEAK Performance Chevrolet Camaro . It was actually Force ’ s second win of the season , as he won the rain-delayed 64th annual Winternationals completed during the Arizona Nationals .

Epping marked Force ’ s record 157th NHRA national event victory . He defeated teammate and Funny Car rookie Austin Prock in the final round , then proclaimed that Prock will someday replace him . While fans first thought that Force ’ s remarks meant his impending retirement , Force later clarified that he ’ s not stepping away immediately and intends to compete for the 2024 world championship . Force ’ s recent success and his youthful drive to succeed have earned him PEAK Performer status .
