Newcomer and newly licensed Josh Leahy has quite an initiation into the“ big show” nitro Funny Car class while racing alongside his Aeroflow teammate, Morice McMillin, during round two of competition at the NDRC Gulf Western Oil“ Nitro Champs.” At high speed, Leahy’ s XPRO Toyota moved across the lane immediately behind the Aeroflow Performance Ford Mustang of McMillin when his vision was obscured due to an apparent clutch dust containment malfunction, right as McMillin deployed his chutes. Leahy took evasive action just in time to avoid a potentially serious accident— managing to haul his car back across into his lane— but did tag the wall at in the process.
