The 10th annual New Year Nationals presented by RT Promotions was held at Florida’ s Bradenton Motorsports Park on December 27-30, and the event had its fair share of adversity before the event’ s conclusion, as rain and fog disrupted the heavily-attended event a number of times throughout the weekend.

With Christmas falling on Wednesday in 2024, the event was kicked off on Saturday and ran until Monday, giving racers extra time to arrive in Bradenton. On tap were three separate $ 10K eliminators in Box and No Box, along with $ 2K-to-win Jr. Dragster events, although as the
weekend wore on, the final pair of events were combined due to unfavorable weather.
Doug Foley Jr. was the event’ s first winner after getting past Tyler Bohannon in the Box category. Both men were driving dragsters, and Bohannon’ s red light start(-. 002) made Foley the instant winner in this matchup. In No Box, Zach Combs won his matchup against Matt Dadas, who had a solid outing, and was also competing in the Box class, making it to the semifinals on Sunday. Gage Burch and Tim Howes were the No Box semifinalists.
Matthew Peterson and Maddie Clark met in the finals of the first Jr. Dragster eliminator, with
Peterson taking home the trophy. Semifinalists were Kylie Mocny and Braxton Scott.
The purse money was doubled on Monday as the final races were combined, as more disruptions from Mother Nature ended the event, with No Box being the only class that was able to complete the finals. Phil Combs went the distance in No Box, getting the win over Lucas Walker. Amazingly, Combs carried both of his entries all the way to the semifinals, where he automatically advanced to the final round. The Combs brothers( Zack and Phil) had an impressive outing, completely sweeping the No Box class in Bradenton.
