STRANGE ENGINEERING WELCOME PARTY LEVELS UP
The Strange Engineering Racer Welcome Party once again proved to be a highlight of the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod. The biggest, richest Pro Mod race in the known universe comes with a substantial amount of pressure, but the Strange Racer Welcome Party allows racers, their teams, and sponsors the opportunity to take the edge off.
Soundtracked by Gary Rowe’ s“ Gary-oke,” tradition held true as everyone was treated to hot pizza and chicken wings from Wolveshead Pizza & Wings, a local Bradenton restaurant with made-to-order from scratch offerings that supported every racer welcome party throughout the Drag Illustrated Winter Series and also provided pies for the media.
Real American Beer, the Official Beer of WSOPM and the DI Winter Series, founded by the famed WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan, kept the vibes high and the coolers stocked with its cold, premium American-style lager beers.
The collaboration between Strange Engineering and the WSOPM highlights the spirit of camaraderie and competition that defines the racing community.
The night also featured the inaugural Practice Tree Shootout presented by Mac Fab Beadlocks
and Bradenton Performance Supply. Mac Fab Beadlocks and Lyle Barnett stepped up with a $ 1,000 cash bonus to go along with the 100 % payout from entries. Jordan Dacosta and Bradenton Performance Supply supplied the practice tree itself.
Keeping the energy high throughout the night was Barrett Green with Big Hat Mafia on the mic, providing hilarious and hype commentary that kept the lively crowd rolling.
With more than 40 participants, the shootout brought a unique mix of competition and entertainment that had fans and racers cheering and talking smack throughout the night.
What made the event so special was the diversity. Fans faced off against pro drivers, plus racers from different classes, who never lined up against one another, went head-to-head in a fast-paced battle for reaction time bragging rights. At the end of the night, it was Keith Russell who ended up besting everyone, making it a memorable event.— KAYLA ZADEL DI DI DI
