Southeast Gassers Records Fall at South Georgia
Brilee Stott becomes youngest SEGA winner in season opener By Lee Craft
It’ s the“ home of the flying cars,” and the cars of the Southeast Gassers Association did just that – fly! Three racers in three of the six championship categories in SEGA action lowered the elapsed time record in their respective category at the Spring Nationals presented by Harbin’ s Mechanical Services. Another record to be reduced was the age of the youngest SEGA event winner, now set below voting age. The record overall marks the first-ever trek to South Georgia Motorsports Park for SEGA as a success.

win for the“ Chick Magnet” driver dumping the clutch with a. 006 reaction time in a 5.21 pass. The event winner is also the reigning champion in A / Gas, but that didn’ t make it an easy event to win.
“ We went through two transmissions. Broke one. Put the backup in but realized why it was the backup because we hadn’ t fixed it from the last time it broke,” said Horne, who lowered the A / Gas record to a 5.169.“ Then we had a master cylinder go bad … still don’ t have good brakes on it. I was afraid the line lock wouldn’ t hold but it held.”
Ben Christopher, who came in second, asked Horne when was the last time he cut a double-O light. Horne remarked,“ the last time I was scared.”
Michael Oden is one of the youngest competitors in SEGA in the B / Gas category. He took his“ Double Down” Chevy II to the No. 1 qualifying spot, then lowered the class record to a 5.587 during eliminations. He turned on every win light to the final, where instead he illuminated
