With header flames firing and an even start, Kaiser’ s lane flashed a ripping 5.79, but the win light glowed in Hilton’ s lane with low E. T. of the meet and the win at 5.72. The Great Expectations team claimed their fourth straight Wally Parks Nostalgia Nationals title, besting the weather and the field.

Fuel Altereds? Fuel Altereds!!! Yes, the fan favorites, those wild Fuel Altereds, were here to go, not just show. Four of the most legit, oldschool AA / FAs in the land – Dan Pettinato’ s“ Rat Poison,” Dave Giles’“ High Heaven,” Brian Hope’ s“ Rat Trap,” and the legendary Bradfords’ 38 Fiat – were all folded into the 6.0 Pro class. They would battle alcohol dragsters and Bantams like bucking broncos entering the Kentucky Derby.
