FAST TRACK TO FAME

Before he was winning NHRA Pro Mod world championships and even before“ The Shadow,” Stevie“ Fast” Jackson could be found wheeling his ProCharged Mustang at radial events and big-money grudge races across the South. In 2011, he ventured north to Maryland’ s Cecil County Dragway to compete in the second annual Yellowbullet Nationals in Outlaw Radial. Jackson ended up reaching the fifth and final round, where he lost a close race to Alex Vrettos. The following spring, he appeared on the cover of Drag IllustrateD Issue # 64 – his first of now four cover appearances, the second most of anyone featured on the cover. In the cover story, Jackson talked about his humble roots and the satisfaction he got from beating drivers with much bigger budgets.“ The theory is basically if I keep winning and outrun enough people with money, they’ re eventually going to get tired of me whooping their ass and hire me,” Jackson said. Fifteen years later, Jackson has tuned and driven for car owners in multiple different continents and his Killin’ Time Racing operation competes on a championship level on Pro Modified’ s biggest stages.
