Steel alloys come in various grades of purity. ARP uses only the best, which are superior to“ aircraft” or“ commercial” grade.
No compromising heat treat
ARP does it all in-house under precise computer control. Studs are individually placed in special racks( not dumped in a bin) to assure total 360-degree penetration.
No compromising strength
Choose from five premium grade alloys ranging from 8740 chrome moly( 190,00 psi) through ARP2000 ®( 220,000 psi) plus L19, Custom Age 625 + and
ARP 3.5 ® that have nominal tensile strength ratings up to 280,000 psi.
No compromising concentricity
Each ARP stud is centerless ground to assure concentricity. The ease of which cylinder heads can be slid into position is a testament to that accuracy.
No compromising threads
ARP rolls each thread( not cuts them) to SAE AS8879D specifications— the industry’ s most precise standard. And because they’ re rolled after heat-treat, when the material is harder, fatigue strength is improved by up to 20-times.
