When Jason Harris wanted to pay tribute to childhood hero Harold Denton with a new throwback wrap on his Southern Diamond Company“ Party Time”’ 69 Camaro for the DI Winter Series, he drew inspiration from Denton’ s Pro Stock machines like the one photographed here by DI’ s
Van Abernethy.“ I can tell these were taken at the spring race because the colorful foliage was always brilliant behind the grandstands at the fall race,” Abernethy says.“ Denton was as tough as they come back in those days. Approximately two years before this photo was snapped, I was standing on the starting line at Darlington in 1991 when Denton made his historic 6-second blast... the first in IHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock.”
