The left front wheel hovers off the ground as Indiana’ s Dave Hill violently charges down the track in his“ Mad Max” Mustang Funny Car at the inaugural CHAOS Supernationals, which combined Chris and Tera Graves’ Funny Car CHAOS and Nitro CHAOS series for one big Memorial Day weekend celebration of speed. Hill, who previously drove a nitro-injected A / Fuel dragster and even dabbled in Pro Mod behind the wheel of Keith Engling’ s Skinny Kid Olds, made the short trip over to Ohio to compete in the event. Hill made it into the‘ A’ field on the Nitro CHAOS side, ultimately taking a wire-to-wire victory over past series champion Garry Wheeler Jr. in the“ Grand Prix Racing” front-engine Top Fueler, Hill’ s 3.61 at 215 mph to Wheeler’ s 3.67 at 204 mph. It was Hill’ s first CHAOS win in his first final.
