The month of May was an unforgettable one for 2021 DI 30 Under 30 honoree Nick Taylor, who married fellow 30 Under 30 honoree and drag-and-drive star Alex Taylor last fall. Two months prior, Taylor’ s turbocharged“ Uncle Sam”’ 91 Camaro was a bare shell. The couple worked together to get the car ready for a month of drag-and-drive competition, complete with hundreds of road miles. Nick finished third in the Mickey Thompson Tires Turn & Burn in the Unlimited class with a new personal best. He lowered that best again in the PEAK Street Car Shootout presented by Sick the Magazine during the Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance at Route 66 Raceway, where he won with a 6.679-second pass at 215.89 mph to beat Bryant Goldstone in the final. Finally, Taylor rounded out the month with a new personal best on small tires at the Strange Engineering King of the South at Shadyside. With all of these accomplishments taken into consideration, Nick Taylor also earned this issue’ s PEAK Performer award.
