Meanwhile, when the weather is nice, 710 Dragway will sometimes run a back-end race as well as a traditional race, all in the same day.“ We’ re trying to accommodate!” says Roller.
For 2026, the idea is to open on Fridays and Sundays year-round. Occasionally, the track is also open on Thursdays for the no-prep guys to make some test hits.
A wide variety of events are happening throughout the year, including special appearances by the Outlaw Syndicate Small Tire Series, with Shawn“ Murder Nova” Ellington and Ryan Martin. A pair of no-prep import vs. domestic events are being planned this year as well. Motorcycle racing is also coming to 710 this year on July 24-25, with Hogs Gone Wild.“ That’ s mainly a Harley-Davidson event, along with some dirt bike stuff,” explains Roller. The ASAG event on August 7-8 promises to be a solid gathering with tons of classes, including Outlaw Small Tire, Lil’ Gangster and much more. Also coming in 2026 is Ghostfest, which is a big-rim race and car show.
For promotional angles, Roller believes word of mouth is still some of the best advertising one can do, even in the age of social media.“ I still go around to area businesses and hand out flyers and talk to people,” he says.“ Sure, we use social media, and my son posts a lot of stuff on Facebook, but I still think it’ s so important go around town and meet people.”
Bracket racing also happens at 710, and Roller wants to expand upon it next year.“ I’ ve been contacted by IHRA and they wanted me to get in on their points series this year, but the timing wasn’ t the best when they contacted me. I’ ve got to make sure I have someone in place who’ s dedicated to entering the racers’ names, points, etc., and basically make sure we’ ve got the facility to do it,” says Roller, adding,“ It’ s something I’ d really like to get off the ground in early 2027.”
With renewed vision and fresh ideas, Roller and the crew at 710 Dragway believe big things can happen in the coming years. DI
