BURNOUT GONE BAD
In one of the most bizarre incidents to hit the JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Mod Series presented by Elite Motorsports in some time, rookie Jason Collins gets loose in the burnout and nearly misses the Christmas tree, ultimately striking the centerline signage. The past Pro 275 champion put the screw-blown Scott Tidwell Racing‘ 69 Camaro in reverse and returned to the starting line, where crew members determined the damage was minimal enough to make the run in the second round of eliminations. Opponent Travis“ The Carolina Kid” Harvey moved first but had to abort the run, while Collins recorded a clean 5.786-second pass to move on. He ended up winning the race, earning his second Wally in three races.
