Streak Broken

Brandon White becomes first repeat winner at Stick Shift Nationals

Virginia racer Brandon White did what no other competitor has been able to do in the 16-year history of the Stick Shift Nationals: Win the main event twice. The“ no repeat win” streak was finally broken this past June when White piloted the Steve McCreary-owned 1957 Chevy Bel Air to the winner’ s circle at North Carolina’ s Farmington Dragway during the 16th running of what many consider the“ Super Bowl of stick-shift racing.” White won his first Stick Shift Nationals title in 2023 driving the same car, during the 13th running of this prestigious event.

While White’ s driving was stellar on Saturday, his successful weekend actually began on Friday night when he edged out Chad McCreary for the win in the Elite Tire and RV Specialist Repair Gambler’ s Race to kick off the weekend. It was a hot June evening, and with engines reaching concerning temperature levels, White and Mc- Creary decided to toss a coin to determine the
