WORLD SERIES OF PRO MOD
ROLLING SMOKE
CLINT SATTERFIELD MADE certain that no one would be forgetting
his on-track contribution to the inaugural World Series of Pro Mod with a
high-speed burnout that took his familiar ’68 Pontiac Firebird beyond half-
track, almost completely broadside. While he bowed out in the first round of
competition, Satterfield and longtime tuner Bob Gardner, split the winner’s
pot for Jim Whiteley’s makeshift burnout contest with Stevie Jackson.
BATTLE ROYALE
WHILE THERE WERE a few first-round pairings that involved more
talk from the drivers involved, there may not have been any more titanic of
a race than that of Harry Hruska and Shane Molinari - two of the world’s
quickest-and-fastest turbocharged Pro Mods. While the numbers remain
secret, the race produced the quickest side-by-side doorslammer passes
in the history of Bandimere Speedway.
WHEELS UP
COLORADO-BASED DRIVER AND team owner Mike Knowles
was one of the most vocal supporters of the World Series of Pro Mod’s
high-stakes, big spotlight format, and seemed hellbent on winning the
first-time event at his local drag strip - making one visibly fast, aggressive
run after another on The Mountain.
