ELECTRIFYING
PERFORMANCE
Patrick McCue charges off the starting line in what appears to be a standard COPO
Camaro, but is actually a one-off eCOPO concept car based on the 2019 COPO
Camaro. The car is a joint effort by McCue, the Hancock and Lane Racing team
and General Motors, with an electric motor based on a pair of BorgWarner HVH
250-150 motor assemblies powered by an 800-volt battery pack and producing
more than 700 hp and 600 ft-lb of torque. McCue, a Seattle-area high school auto
tech teacher, had over a dozen of his students involved in the development and
assembly of the car. The eCOPO burst into the 9-second zone with a record 9.837
at 134.07 mph on an exhibition pass at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona.
