Anyone who spent time around Dallas Glenn during his nearly 10 years as a crew member at KB Racing – or really anyone who knew even a little bit of his backstory – could ’ ve guessed that he would take to the driving side of NHRA Pro Stock racing pretty quickly . What started as a four- or five-race trial at the start of the 2021 season snowballed into something truly special , as Glenn collected his first Pro Stock Wally in just his fourth career start at the 11th annual NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway near Charlotte . “ To be honest , I don ’ t even think it ’ s hit me yet ,” Glenn said in the media center after winning . “ I ’ m just trying to enjoy everything I can . I ’ ve never experienced it on this side . It ’ s super emotional . This is a whole new perspective for me and these cars are so much fun , but they ’ re hard to drive . The results just came a little sooner than we were expecting .”
Glenn kept the momentum rolling , adding victories at the Menards NHRA Nationals at Topeka ,

where he cut a . 000 reaction time in the final round , and the Dodge // SRT NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas , where he had a . 001 light in the final . That reaction time prowess was developed through years in bracket racing , and it put him at the top of the reaction time averages list for the season .
“ He adds fuel to my fire ,” said teammate Kyle Koretsky . “ He ’ s been triple zero on me twice now and he ’ s just showing me that it can be done and he makes me step my game up . That ’ s how I look at it .”
The Vegas win kept Glenn in championship contention going into the Auto Club Finals at Pomona .

He ended up finishing third in points behind his teammate and the now five-time world champion , Greg Anderson , and four-time world champion Erica Enders . He also earned the prestigious NHRA Rookie of the Year Award , coming out on top in a tight battle with Top Fuel driver Josh Hart , who won twice during his rookie campaign .
Through it all , Glenn maintained his position as a crew member for KB Racing ’ s fleet of Pro Stock entries . He still drove one of the team ’ s race rigs to all 17 events and handled the clutch maintenance on his own car .
“ He ’ s more passionate about the sport than anybody and he ’ s not a flash in the pan ,” said Jason Line , who won one of his three Pro Stock world championships while Glenn was one of his crew members . “ He ’ s a long-term guy and he ’ s in it for the long haul .”
Glenn ’ s dream of racing Pro Stock will continue through the 2022 season , as he announced a primary sponsorship renewal with RAD Torque for the full season . – NATE VAN WAGNEN DI
