The two most dominant drivers in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous proved they ’ re still the top dogs at Bristol . Four-time world champion Jim Halsey , who raced at Bristol in the ‘ 90s , qualified No . 1 in his Fulton-powered “ Daddy Shark ” ’ 68 Camaro , then set low E . T . of the first three rounds to reach his second consecutive final and fourth of the year . Three-time and reigning world champ Tommy Franklin , who qualified third in his Musi-powered “ Jungle Rat ” ’ 69 Camaro , stepped up with his best run of the weekend , a 3.694 , to beat Halsey ’ s 3.696 in the final . Fredy Scriba had another consistent weekend , qualifying No . 2 and reaching the semis in his Musi-powered ’ 69 Camaro .
After a tough start to the season , the Brandon Stroudtuned , ProCharged ’ 69 Camaros of Johnny Camp and reigning WS Construction Pro Boost presented by P2 Contracting and Ty-Drive world champion Jason Harris are on a roll . Camp in his “ Hells Bells ” machine qualified second and charged to another final round after winning the last race , where he defeated Harris in the final . This time , Harris got him back by winning with a 3.643 in his “ Party Time ” hot rod over Camp ’ s 3.663 to get his first points-earning win of the season . Kurt Steding maintained his points lead by qualifying third and taking his screw-blown P2 Contracting ’ 69 Camaro to the semis .
Past Liberty ’ s Gears Extreme Pro Stock presented by AED Competition world champion Chris Powers took over the points lead from two-time world champ Johnny Pluchino when he rolled through the gates , as Pluchino sat out Bristol . Powers padded his new lead by racing to the semifinals in his Sonny ’ s Racing Engines ’ 21 Camaro . Daryl Stewart , who earned his first XPS win at Norwalk , sat out the next two races but returned with another win at Bristol . He laid down a 4.125 in his Kaase-powered Chassis Engineering ’ 12 Camaro to beat Jordan Ensslin ’ s 4.189 in the final . Ensslin was appearing in his first final behind the wheel of his Allenpowered Dark Horse Coffee ’ 08 Mustang .
For the second consecutive race , the two most recent PDRA Pro 632 world champions met up in the final round . This edition saw 2022 world champ Amber Franklin lay down a 4.192 in her Musi-powered “ OG Jungle Rat ” ’ 69 Camaro to defeat reigning world champ Jeff Melnick and his 4.238 . Franklin , who set low E . T . of all but one round , has now been to four of six finals . Melnick in Alan O ’ Brien ’ s Barry Allen-powered Greenbrier Excavating & Paving ’ 20 Camaro qualified No . 1 for the first time this season . Walter Lannigan Jr . took Chris Holdorf ’ s Nelsonpowered Freedom Grow ’ 10 GTO to the semis after qualifying No . 2 .
Ethan Steding ’ s incredible rookie season in Menscer Motorsports Pro Street presented by Afco Racing continued with his third win in as many final rounds . Qualified fourth , Steding set low E . T . of the second and third rounds before unloading a stunning 3.956 in the final – nearly a tenth quicker than the next quickest pass on race day . He defeated No . 2 qualifier Dan Norris , who set low E . T . of the first round in his roots-blown ’ 22 Mustang . A broken rear end slowed him down in the final round . Young gun and home track hero Scott Kincaid qualified sixth in his screw-blown ’ 69 Camaro and set low E . T . of the second round .

After a two-month break , Drag 965 Pro Extreme Motorcycle returned to action with Brunson Grothus and two-time and reigning world champion Chris Garner-Jones pairing up in the final round for the second time this season . Grothus , who qualified No . 1 on Robert Varela ’ s turbocharged Dallas Flat Glass Distributors ’ 19 Hayabusa , fired off a 4.02 to hold off Garner-Jones and his 4.069 in the final . Garner-Jones qualified No . 2 on his nitrous-fed T . T . Jones Racing ’ 18 Hayabusa . Brayden Davis , who grew up racing Jr . Dragsters at Bristol , qualified fourth on his father Travis Davis ’ s championship-winning Timblin Chassis Hayabusa and was second-quickest rider of the semis , but lined up against the quickest , Grothus .
