THROUGHOUT THE 11-SEASON HISTORY OF THE RED LINE OIL PDRA DRAG RACING SERIES, JASON HARRIS HAS MAINTAINED A CONSISTENT PRESENCE AS A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER. HE SECURED THE FIRST-EVER SWITZER DYNAMICS PRO NITROUS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP THROUGH A NEAR-PERFECT SEASON IN 2014. THE PITTSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA-BASED DRIVER ADDED ANOTHER PRO NITROUS TITLE IN 2018. AFTER MAKING THE SWITCH TO WS CONSTRUCTION PRO BOOST PRESENTED BY P2 CONTRACTING & TY-DRIVE, HARRIS SECURED BACK-TO-BACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2023 AND 2024.
Driving his ProCharged Southern Diamond Company“ Party Time”’ 69 Camaro, Harris is chasing his fifth world championship in the series this season. He goes into battle with a team that includes his father, Bob Harris, and Pro Line Racing tuner Brandon Stroud. This season, he’ ll also help John Dougherty, also known as John Doc, make his Pro Boost debut in a Pro- Charged’ 67 Mustang out of the Nasty Racing camp.
Before kicking off the season at the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod, Harris sat down with us for a conversation about his racing
career evolution, his recent success, and his outlook on the 2025 season.
Coming up through the ranks as a nitrous guy, did you ever think you’ d end up in a boosted class?
No, I sure didn’ t. I was always a nitrous guy. It’ s what I started with, so being given the opportunity to do boosted, that was something new to me. I knew there was going to be growing pains, but it actually ended up being one of the best decisions I’ ve ever made in racing. It gave me a new venue, new guys to race, and a whole different outlook on racing in general.
With the competition level in Pro Boost, were you surprised you were able to go back-to-back?
Yeah, definitely. Winning any championship is a feat in itself, especially in PDRA, but to be able to go backto-back, especially after stumbling the beginning of the year … I kind of wrote it off, but then we made a hard charge right there at the end of the year and all the cards fell in place at the World Finals. I don’ t like doing that. I like being able to win it like I did in‘ 14 when you can win it a race before and you don’ t have to really worry about it. It definitely adds a sense of security to it, but
when you’ ve got to go into the last race and you’ re behind and you’ re chasing or defending, it’ s very nerve-wracking. It adds a whole other element to it.
What is it about you and your team that’ s set you apart from the rest of the class the last two seasons?
We work well together. I work well with a lot of the guys who work on the team. We’ re a good fit. Brandon Stroud and I mesh real well together. I’ ve got a good car. The whole team, my dad, everybody that stands behind me, we all have a good time when we go to the race-
